It's a busy weekend coming up for Coldspring Paddling Instruction. We'll be helping get people into canoes and kayaks and shepherding them on the water at Saturday's Demo Day for Classic Outdoors at Erindale Pond, then on Sunday we'll be helping out CLassic Outdoors again doing the same thing during the Saskatoon Canoe Club's Open House at the boathouse in Victoria Park. Come check out the canoes, kayaks & stand up paddleboards and head out for a test paddle.

Coldspring Paddling Instruction now has a YouTube channel! You can find it at http://www.youtube.com/user/ColdspringPaddling. There you will see any Coldspring Paddling videos as well as various paddling-related videos that we think are of interest. For instance, check out the Sea Kayak Tips & Techniques playlist.

The schedule of lessons for 2012 has been more or less online for a while, but I think I can finally say it's complete and ready to go! (No more tinkering.) Everything has been put into a new online registration system which lets you see the full slate of lessons at a glance, or view by course category, or even by calendar. Once you find the course you like, you can then register for that course. You'll see if there is room in the course or if's full. Coldspring Paddling Instruction will be coming to Candle Lake for over a week at the end of July and have 7 kayak paddling courses on the agenda for that time period. There will also be a bit of time for custom kayak lessons while we are there. You can see the schedule at our Candle Lake page. The majority of the Coldspring Paddling Instruction 2012 schedule of kayak lessons is now posted on the website. Check out these great courses being held in a variety of locations in Saskatchewan:

• Five 4-hour Introductory Clinics
• Six PC Introduction to Kayaking certified courses
• Two PC Sea Kayak Skills Level 1 certified courses
• Two 2-hour Parent + Kid clinics

Some of these courses are running in the Saskatoon area (including Blackstrap and Pike Lakes) while others are being offered at Candle Lake, plus one clinic near my hometown at Humboldt. 

It's going to be a great year!

Coldspring Paddling Instruction will be offering pool-based kayak lessons over the winter in Saskatoon.  We'll be running three 4-hour Introductory Kayak Clinics over two evenings.  For those that have already taken the Introduction to Kayaking course or equivalent, we'll be running Rescue Clinics to practice our assisted- and self-rescue kayaking techniques.
